About hopspots

Hopspots is developed by Child Experience Design, CxD. Hopspots is an interactive learning tool with additional games and exercises that all focus on movement, play and learning in relation to teaching. Hopspots combines technology and physical space and focuses on the interaction of children. Children get to be part of creating their own educational material and become part of an innovative process. This is expressed through the possibility to self-program Hopspots’s games, for example recording your own sounds. In that way the games can customised the individual needs of children.

Hopspots: award-winner and shortlisted for WISE! By Trine Askjær-Jørgensen - Communication Wehoo! We are thrilled here at Child Experience Design because our interactive learning tool, Hopspots, just won an award, for innovation, AND our company won an award for culture. Not one, but TWO Lotus Awards - we are amazed! The innovation award acknowledges Hopspots for being an innovative product that combines movement and learning with the physical and digital spaces, and the culture award acknowledges our company culture - both of which we are very proud of. The organizer says the following about the award show and the purpose of the Lotus awards: “On June 27, at the Scotch of St James we celebrated the best in Innovation, Sustainability & Company Culture. We created The Lotus Awards to recognise organisations regardless of size, industry or budget. It was a pleasure to celebrate these incredible achievements and hopefully inspire others to follow their example to create the positive change we need.” Read more about the Lotus Awards here. Shortlisted for WISE-accelerator Another amazing thing that has happened here at CxD is that Hopspots has been shortlisted for the WISE-accelerator in Qatar. We [...]

Hopspots in the Danish Shark Tank

By |2020-09-09T12:00:29+00:00February 28th, 2019|

12-year-old Anton presented Hopspots in the Danish version of Shark Tank By Aviaja Borup Lynggaard, Entrepreneur behind Hopspots Our dream is to spread Hopspots across the globe. Wednesday evening we took a huge step in that direction when I, together with my 12-year-old son, participated in the Danish version of Shark tank, and got to show Hopspots during the best possible time on the Danish Broadcasting Corporation TV-show. Back in November we got the opportunity, with a very short notice, to participate in the show. A wonderful opportunity of spreading the word about Hopspots, which I of course said yes to. Hopspots is a small company, and for that reason it can be really hard to spread the word far out. I think that Shark Tank is the best TV-show at the moment and have not missed even one episode of it. That's why it was also very exciting to get to participate and tell people about Hopspots and its many possibilities. In the meantime we had already started thinking about what the next step should be for these interactive spots, as we have so many ideas for the next generation of [...]

Make your own stories with Code a Spot

By |2020-09-09T12:01:54+00:00February 11th, 2019|

Make your own interactive stories with Code a Spot DigiPippi made their own stories in Code a Spot The weekend before last we made stories in the Hopspots-game, Code a Spot, at a DigiPippi-event for girls, who are interested in technology. The three groups of girls made their own great stories and programmed the stories in Code a Spot, where they also added sound effects. The stories had the following titles: "The dancing flamingo", "The lonely dinosaur" and "The hedgehog that got scared", and they were all brilliant. Get others to find the order At first the girls worked on creating great stories after which they recorded the stories on the Hopspots. Afterwards, the three groups tried each other stories. They had to listen to the individual parts of the stories on the spots and try to find the correct chronological order to place the spots in. As soon as the girls figured out the plot in the story, they placed the spots in the right order after each other on the floor. Finally, they could play the story and have the group that made the story check whether or not they found the right [...]

User survey on Hopspots

User survey on Hopspots By Trine Askjær-Jørgensen & Henriette Mikaelsen Today, Hopspots is present at more than 60 schools and institutions all over the Danish country. Moreover, the first Hopspots have also travelled across the Danish border to Qatar, where they are also creating active learning. Thus, in the spring of 2018 we carried out a customer survey, where we talked to our current customers at schools and institutions across the country to have their opinion on the product and the value that it creates to them. Children improve significantly when using Hopspots Among other things we asked our customers if they have experienced improvements or development in the children after they started using Hopspots. We got the following answers to that question: "Yes, we have experienced great improvement. Now the children in 1st grade know the order of the alphabet and can remember numbers. The product truly motivates them to participate" (SEN school). "We experience improved concentration when the children move with Hopspots, which creates focus and thus they learn more". "We experience great improvement in concentration. The children also learn a lot, especially when we programme our own games". The overall theme [...]

Surprised by recognition of Hopspots

Surprised and proud of recognition of Hopspots By Trine Askjær-Jørgensen Here at CxD Aps we are very proud and surprised that both the company and our interactive learning tool, Hopspots, were recognised with 3 awards last week. Moreover, we participated in a large EU conference for women in tech. Comenius EduMedia Seal Last Thursday at the 23rd annual Comenius EduMedia Award show for digital educational media in Berlin, Hopspots received a seal - in this case in the category for IT-, communication- and educational media. It especially means a lot to us that Hopspots was recognised for its academic content and contribution as educational media. It is a seal of approval to us that motivates us even more to create more fun, healthier and active school days, where children learn more. Because, with Hopspots we want to create active learning and help the world's children become digitally competent. Lotus Award for sustainability The very same Thursday CxD and Hopspots were also recognised with a Lotus Award, which we received at an award show in London. The Lotus Award was created with the purposes of recognizing workplaces no matter [...]
